Film & Digital Arts and Native American Studies hosts Deanna Allison

Deanna Allison (Dark Winds) will give a talk on Monday 10/14 at 12pm in the SUB Atrium as part of a larger program for Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Film & Digital Arts is co-hosting this talk with Native American Studies. Join us for the whole day from 10am-2pm with speakers, vendors, and cultural performances!

Deanna Allison is a Diné creative of the Naaneesht’ Ezhi Tachii’nii (Zuni-Red Running into the Water) Clan born to the ‘Áshiihi (Salt) Clan. Deanna can currently be seen starring as Emma Leaphorn opposite Zahn McClarnon in AMC Western Noir thriller series “Dark Winds.” She also played a defense attorney Dezba Lowe, on Season 2 of Howard Cordon’s crime anthology “Accused” for Fox.

Possessing a strong background in Theatre, Deanna has been involved as a playwright for “Spider Woman Stories” in collaboration with Indigenous female writers. She performed the leading role of Spider Woman, a Diné deity spinning life in and out of time, with an all indigenous cast produced by the New Mexico Storytellers Association.
