My name is Wendy Gaytan Marin, and I am a Latina born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I graduated from The University of New Mexico with a BFA in Film Production and an Associate degree in Sociology.

I specialize in Producing and the Grip and Lighting department. I want to continue studying and get a BA in Sociology & Psychology. As well as my electrician’s license, which will not only make me another woman in the trade world but also support my film career. During my time at UNM, I contributed to the Refugee and Immigrant Well-being Project, assisting refugee families in Albuquerque. I also worked with The Institute for American Indian Education, where I filmed and created a series of videos aimed at recruiting more Native teachers and principals.

In the last two years at UNM, I served as an Instructional Assistant for the senior capstone class, acting as the Production Manager for over 40 film productions, animations, and games. From coordinating meetings, creating shooting schedules, securing locations, assembling crews and casts, and planning and programming a two-day film festival screening.

My goal in life is to help others experience a smoother start in their film careers, achieve their dreams, and even just simply make sure they have a good day.
