Megan Kamauoha
Born and raised amidst the vibrant landscapes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, I have always been captivated by the magic of storytelling through film and digital media. Fuelled by this passion, I pursued my undergraduate studies in Film and Digital Media, honing my skills and understanding of the craft. Upon graduating, I wasted no time and eagerly set forth on an adventure to Atlanta, Georgia, where I had the incredible opportunity to work on a couple of highly acclaimed films, including the much-anticipated “Guardians of the Galaxy 3.” Immersed in the world of filmmaking, I absorbed valuable experiences, collaborating with talented professionals and contributing my creativity to bring captivating stories to life on the silver screen.
However, despite the allure of the bustling film industry, my heart remained anchored to the enchanting vistas and close-knit community of my hometown in Albuquerque. Driven by a desire to enhance my craft and embrace new challenges, I made the decision to return to my roots.
Back in New Mexico, I pursued my passion for visual storytelling in a different capacity, joining the local 600 as a dedicated member. Both in the union and a portrait photographer, capturing the essence of individuals through the lens of my camera or with a team.
I am also the host and creator of Street Meet New Mexico—a dynamic group-based meet-up fostering skill development, community, and portfolio building since 2018. Passionate about nurturing creativity, the creator curates engaging events, empowering artists to explore diverse styles. With a thriving community and impactful collaborations, Street Meet New Mexico continues to leave an indelible mark on the local artistic landscape.
Looking towards the future in film, photography and volunteering in Street Meet – I am excited to continue my journey, always learning, evolving, and creating. Through each endeavor, I aspire to share the beauty of storytelling and visual art, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those who encounter my work.
